Template Support Update
Last updated: 30 June 2026
FilPass is continuously evolving to provide a more consistent, flexible, and future-ready document issuance experience. As part of this commitment, we are standardizing the way document templates are created and managed across the platform.
Overview
To ensure compatibility with current and future FilPass features, Manual Templates are no longer supported.
Important
Manual templates are no longer supported. Moving forward, only templates created using Template Design can be used for document issuance.
This update establishes Template Design as the standard template creation tool for all document issuance workflows across FilPass V2.
Why This Change?
Template Design provides a modern, visual template authoring experience that offers greater flexibility, consistency, and long-term maintainability compared to legacy Manual Templates.
By standardizing on Template Design, organizations will benefit from:
- A centralized template creation experience
- Improved document layout consistency
- Better support for dynamic fields and variable mapping
- Enhanced compatibility with new FilPass features
- Simplified template maintenance and updates
- A scalable foundation for future enhancements
What's Changing?
Beginning with this update:
- Manual Templates are no longer supported for document issuance.
- Only templates created using Template Design can be selected when issuing documents.
- Organizations should migrate any actively used Manual Templates to Template Design.
- New templates should be created exclusively through the Template Design module.
Affected Modules
This change applies to all document issuance workflows that generate digital credentials, including:
- Batch Issuance
- Document Request Module (DRM)
- Event Module
- Any workflow that uses document templates for issuance
Only Template Design templates will be available for future document generation.
What Should You Do?
If your organization is currently using Manual Templates, we recommend completing the following steps:
- Review all existing Manual Templates.
- Recreate or migrate each template using the Template Design module.
- Verify that all template variables are correctly mapped.
- Test document issuance using the new template.
- Update any existing workflows to reference the new Template Design template.
- Publish the updated template before using it in production.
Migrating early helps ensure uninterrupted document issuance and compatibility with future FilPass releases.
